Company Background

Exclusive Mountain Retreats Real Estate was formed in 1995 and arose out of the need to serve our clients specifically by listing their properties, as well as representing them in the real estate purchase process. With more than 40 years of combined marketing, management and sales experience, and a thorough knowledge of the Summit County area, we can showcase your home, lot or business in the marketplace.

Experience

Bonnie Smith's previous business experience includes corporate and field marketing experience, most recently as Vice President of Marketing, Advertising & Planning for a Fortune 100 company. She was President of her own consulting firm, specializing in marketing and management counseling for corporations and small businesses. She has traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada, teaching and lecturing on sales, marketing, computer training, motivation, and management. Bonnie's past experience also included work for a real estate developer in the Northeast before her move to Colorado. Additionally, she worked extensively with commercial REALTORS and space planners to buy and lease office space. Bonnie has resided in Summit County, Colorado for the past 23 years.

Education

Ms. Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts with a major in Psychology and minors in Business and Philosophy. She also participated in the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, Executive MBA program. She is a graduate of the REALTOR Institute. She holds the Accredited Buyer's Representative designation. She is a Certified Residential Specialist. Bonnie holds the Masters in Real Estate designation. She is also a member of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and holds the CRB designation. She is a member of NAR's International Section and holds the Certified International Property Specialist designation. She also holds the Accredited Luxury Home Specialist certification from the Luxury Home Council, as well as the Resort & Second Home Certification from NAR's Resort Section.

Experience

Rodney Allen brings to Exclusive Mountain Retreats a solid background in exclusive Buyer representation, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the Summit County marketplace.
Mr. Allen also specializes in new development. He has recently assisted developers with several new large developments from the conceptual stages, beginning with locating the appropriate property, to site design, guiding the project through the entitlement process, and finally marketing and selling out the development. His extensive knowledge of the regulations & review process required in both the Towns of Breckenridge & Silverthorne in addition to unincorporated Summit County is a key ingredient in arriving at a smooth approval process.
Rodney is a member of the REALTORS® Land Institute. This is an elite group of over 21,00 land specialist members throughout North America. He has earned the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation which is awarded to members who successfully complete training in all aspects of Taxation, Investment, brokerage, subdividing and planning regarding agricultural & recreational lands. The ALC designation is recognized throughout North America as the pinnacle of achievement for land real estate specialists.
A Breckenridge resident for twenty five years, Rodney's entrepreneurial background began in Sydney, Australia, his native home. After successfully operating an international exporting firm of his own for many years, he has a solid grounding in the mechanics of the International market. Rodney has completed the coveted Certified International Property Specialist designation and counts among his clients investors from Hong Kong, England, Germany, Taiwan, Korea, and Australia, to name a few.

Education

Mr. Allen has an extensive Real Estate education. He is a graduate of the REALTOR Institute. He has also completed the Acredited Buyer Representative and Certified Residential Specialist programs and holds both the ABR & CRS designation, as well as being a Certified International Property Specialist. He has been certified as a Mediator by the Colorado Association of REALTORS. Rodney also holds the Masters in Real Estate designation, showing a commitment to competence, education and experience. He holds the ALC designation, the premier standard for REALTORS who specialize in Land sales, acquisition and development. The Accredited Land Consultant undergoes a rigorous training and is given under the REALTOR Land Institute. He also holds the resort and Second Home Specialist certification from NAR.

ABR…. Accredited Buyer Representative
The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYER'S AGENT Council ("REBAC") of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria. A real estate buyer's representative represents the buyer who is purchasing property in a real estate transaction, and much more.
Why use a Buyer's Representative?
A real estate buyer's representative represents the buyer who is purchasing property in a real estate transaction. The buyer's representative works for, and owes fiduciary responsibilities to, the real estate buyer and has buyer's best interests in mind throughout the process. Purchasing real estate is a complex and major transaction with many details to be handled. A buyer's representative is responsible for protecting the buyer's best interests.

CRS….Certified Residential Specialist
The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) is the highest Designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field. The CRS Designation recognizes professional accomplishments in both experience and education. Fewer than 5 percent of all REALTORS® hold the CRS Designation. There is a big difference between a CRS and other agents. Advanced training, experience, and nationwide access to a network of resources makes the CRS the preferred choice in residential real estate sales. "Get Serious. Get a CRS."

GRI….Graduate of the Real Estate Institute
The GRI designation is a real estate industry designation similar to various industry designations such as a CPA. This designation may only be earned after successfully completing a rigorous educational program. This program requires live course instruction from a statewide faculty selected because of extensive experience in their own areas of expertise. This designation is available only to members of the local, state and National Association of REALTORS®. GRI is recognized nationwide as the standard for real estate professionalism and knowledge.

MRE….Masters in Real Estate
The MRE designation is awarded through the Colorado Association of REALTORS®. The MRE program is designed to provide advanced training beyond the GRI designation. It focuses on critical skills of the real estate business and provides education in current real estate topics & issues. The MRE designation signifies a broker highly dedicated to professional development.

CIPS….Certified International Property Specialist
A Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) is an individual with proven expertise in the specialized profession of international real estate. They have met both the CIPS Educational Program requirements and have practical business experience. The CIPS program is administered through the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) International Operations Section. NAR studies show that CIPS designees are highly experienced, both in real estate and in working with clients from diverse cultures and countries. The CIPS Network is comprised of 1,300 real estate professionals who deal in all types of real estate, but with one common element: they are focused specifically on the "international" market. Whether traveling abroad to put deals together, assisting foreign investors, helping local buyers invest abroad, or serving an immigrant niche in local markets, CIPS members are consumers' best resource to ensure they are dealing with a professional skilled in the unique aspects of international real estate.

Resort and Second Home Specialist
This certification recognizes that the graduate ubderstands the essentials of buying, selling, or managing resort properties and second homes for recreation, investment, and development by U.S. and international clients and customers in the United States. The focus is on developing the skills required to be successful in the second-home vacation and investment market. Designees are competent in using market statistics and knowledge of the motivations for a second-home purchase to develop a business strategy and make business decisions about capturing and serving the market. Additionally, they can identify the impact of trends and issues on business strategy and client and customer service.

ALHS….Accredited Luxury Home Specialist -Luxury Home Council
Members of the Luxury Home Council who hold the Accredited Luxury Home Specialist Designation are part of an elite membership of top real estate professionals throughout the United States. Members must subscribe to a dedication like no others. They strive to provide exceptional service to affluent clients through rigorous education focusing on the Luxury Home Market and their understanding of the special demands of affluent buyers and sellers. Members of the Luxury Home Council are true professionals; they value the client/agent relationship and are assuredly, the best in the business.

RSPS….Resort and Second Home Specialist

The REALTORS® Land Institute is dedicated to building knowledge, building relationships, and building business for its members - the extraordinary real estate professionals who broker, lease, sell, develop, and manage our most precious resource: the land. Members of the organization specialize in land brokerage related to:
(1) farms, ranches, recreational, and other specialty land properties;
(2) undeveloped tracts of land;
(3) transitional and development land;

Accredited Land Consultant
The REALTORS® Land Institute confers the esteemed Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation to only those individuals who achieve the highest level of education, experience, and professionalism as a land professional by completing the RLI organization's Land University program and fulfilling transaction requirements.
